Devour a Book Flight

By Tana M. Mann Easton, Lead Efficiency Engineer

Food and drink flights are popular gimmicks in our world right now.  This pub has a beer flight (a bunch of popular beers in smaller quantities that you can taste together).  This bar has a wine flight.  That café has a coffee flight.  That restaurant has a soup flight.  If you are determined to read more in the new year, I’d suggest a flight of books.

Perhaps you’re intrigued by a certain author, and you want to read as many books as you can of theirs this year.  I’ve done this for Jane Austen and J. R. R. Tolkien for example.  Or perhaps you want to do a deep dive on a certain topic or theme.  I’ve done book flights on saying no, meeting best practices, and religious texts to name a few.  Devouring a book flight will not only get you reading more but also put you on a path to being somewhat of an expert on a certain author or topic.   And both of these goals are a good use of time.
