Solo Mini Outings Goal
By Tana M. Mann Easton, Lead Efficiency Engineer
For the last few years, I’ve had a goal to explore the wonders of my immediate surroundings (places within a 1.5 hour drive). I pay attention to online articles that suggest beautiful local sights and places and keep a running list of possible travel spots. In the summer and fall, when the weather is beautiful, I get in the car and check out the places on my list. I try to do one every two weeks or so. In the fall when the leaves are in their peak color, I sometimes go out once or even twice a week. I check out waterfalls, lighthouses, covered bridges, quaint downtowns, old Victorian homes…whatever strikes my fancy. I’ve had this goal for three or four years now, and I still haven’t exhausted my list of places to visit within a 1.5 hour radius. If your whimsy is calling for some exploration, you don’t have to go far to scratch the wanderlust itch. Set a solo mini outings goal of your own and experience the beauty of your surroundings.
