New Perspectives Reading Goal

The world feels polarized with forces pushing us into silos of people who identify similarly. However, if you don’t like feeling divided from your fellow human, there is an easy and cheap way to broaden your horizons and learn about those who are different…reading.
Humans through the ages have been sharing their deepest thoughts and experiences via books. They pour their hearts out, and their perspectives are available for any of us to explore. For the next year, if you’d like to expand your horizons, try to read one book a month by someone who is different from you. If you’re a man, read a book or two by women. Read a book about someone of a different race, religion, or sexual orientation. Read a book by someone who is hard of hearing or from a different country or from a different century. I’ve learned so much in life by simply reading the words of others. If you have a local library, you can gain these perspectives for free with a library card. So grab a book and broaden your knowledge base today.
