Quarterly Technology Detox Goal

By Tana M. Mann Easton, Lead Efficiency Engineer

Tired of feeling tethered to technology?  Try a quarterly technology detox goal.

Select a period of time - maybe a day, maybe two, maybe a weekend and unplug.  Go off the grid.  No screens.  No scrolling.  No Wi-Fi.  No texting.  If the kids in Stranger Things didn’t have the technology, you don’t have the technology.  Or if you want to go really hard core, if Tiny Tim from A Christmas Carol didn’t have the technology, then you don’t have it.  You can decide your level of off the grid.  And then indulge in simpler pleasures – reading, writing, making music, crafting, cooking, visiting, art, sports, exercise.  Set a goal to repeat your digital detox quarterly (or for whatever cadence you desire).  Remind yourself of life’s analog enjoyments.
